A beautiful new roadster with performance to match

Overview Information

Arguably the best Pontiac in a long time. The 2-seat roadster features handsome styling and a rewarding driving experience. The Solstice provides the first credible competition for the Miata at this price point. Solstice rides on an all-new compact, RWD platform and is powered by a 2.4L 4-cylinder. Buyers can opt for either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. A turbocharged GXP model features a direct-injection, turbocharged 2.0L engine boosting horsepower to an estimated 260hp. The power increase is sufficient for a credible claim of 0-60 in under 5.5s. Depending on pricing, the GXP model sweetens an already irresistible offering.

What Changed:

New GXP model featuring a 2.0L turbocharged, direct-injection engine producting 260hp. GXP features distinct front/rear fascias and unique interior treatments. 2.0L engine is GM's first North American application of direct-injection.

Official Word:

“Creating a GXP performance edition of the Solstice is a natural extension of the capabilities of this car. On its own, the base Solstice offers all of the qualities one would expect from a classic roadster – style, crisp handling, and spirited performance. The Solstice GXP takes that pure roadster DNA and pushes it to a new level, with a 47 percent boost in horsepower and other enhancements for a more thrilling driving experience.” -- John Larson, Pontiac general manager.
