What Changed in 2007 for Mitsubishi

  • 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

    2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

A convertible version of the new Eclipse joins the lineup dubbed the Spyder. The convertible features a power-operated soft top that retracts in 19 seconds. The Spyder offers the same 162-bhp 2.4L I-4 260-bhp 3.8L V-6 powertrains found in the coupe. Like the coupe, the Spyder is FWD only.

  • 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

    2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

A new Outlander debuts based on a new platform to be shared with the next-generation Lancer compact. Outlander grows in wheelbase and track resulting in a larger vehicle that is big enough to offer optional 3rd row seating. An aluminum roof helps to reduce weight and lower the center of gravity. All models are powered by an all-new 3.0L V6 teamed to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both FWD and AWD versions will be offerd.

  • 2007 Mitsubishi Galant

The Galant receives updated styling for 2007. All models receive a new front and rear bumper fascia and a grille with a chrome surround. A new Ralliart model is added that wears a distinctive front bumper, mesh grille and projector-style headlamps. The Ralliart is powered by a 258 hp version of the 3.8L V6 found in the GTS. Both models feature a new 5-speed automatic transmission.

Mitsubishi is looking to capture some lost momentum with the release of a significantly new Outlander compact SUV. Based on the same platform as the upcoming Lancer, the Outlander has grown sufficiently in size to offer optional third-row seating. A standard 3.0L V6 provides the power in FWD and AWD models. The convertible version of the new Eclipse appears this year. Engines and options follow that of the strong selling coupe version. The convertible features a slick power-operated top that operates in 19 seconds. The Galant gains a Ralliart package this year in attempt to bring some attention and badly needed sales to the series. Freshened front and rear styling and a new 5-speed automatic will also appear in the Galant line. The Lancer disappears from the lineup and will be replaced in 2007 by an all-new model. Fans of the Lancer Evolution are watching closely hoping the Lancer stays true to the Concept X shown in 2005.
