2007 Mini Cooper
The 2nd generation Mini Cooper has grown by almost 3 inches in length. The nose of the vehicle has grown in part to meet pedestrian safety standards in Europe. The Cooper will still be offered in two versions: Cooper and Cooper S. Both versions utilize a 1.6L four-cylinder engine. The Cooper is rated at 120 hp, whereas the turbocharger included on the Cooper S boosts power to 175 hp. A 6-speed manual is standard and a 6-speed automatic is optional on both models.
The hot selling Mini Cooper has been a boon to BMW. The Cooper is one of the few upscale compact cars to find sales success in the US market. It should come as no surprise that the redesigned Mini Cooper is more of the same. The new Cooper is larger, but retains all of the characteristics that made the Mini too cute to dislike.
