What Changed in 2007 for Lincoln

  • 2007 Lincoln MKX

The MKX is an all-new sport wagon based on the Ford Fusion platform. Offered in FWD and AWD, the MKX is powered by a new 3.5L V6 rated at 265 bhp. A six-speed automatic is standard. The interior has two rows of seating for up to 5 passengers.

After just one model year, Ford changes the name of Zephyr to MKZ. The change is due to Lincoln's adoption of a 3-letter naming scheme. The MKZ also features an upgraded powertrain with a 3.5L Duratec 35 V6 and available AWD. The front fascia is subtly updated with a new grille.

  • 2007 Lincoln Navigator L

The Navigator L is a new model that adds over 14 inches of length and 25 cubic feet additional cargo storage to the standard Navigator. The Navigator L shares its bold styling and all other mechanical underpinnings with the Navigator. The standard 300-bhp 5.4L V-8 is equipped with a 6-speed automatic. Towing capacity is up to 9,100 lbs.

The Navigator is even flashier for 2007 thanks to a bold new horizontally slatted grille. The restyled and re-engineered Navigator features a redesigned frame and suspension for improved ride and handling. The standard 300-bhp 5.4L V-8 is equipped with a 6-speed automatic. Towing capacity is up to 9,100 lbs.

Ford has been talking Bold for some time, but if there is one vehicle that epitomizes bold, that vehicle would be the restyled Navigator. The new Navigator wears one of the most dramatic grilles the industry has seen in many years. The restyled/re-engineered Navigator gains a L model that adds over 14 inches to the length of the cargo area increasing the cargo hold by over 25 cubic feet.

The Lincoln brand gets a new five passenger crossover vehicle to chase the likes of the Lexus RX. Closely related to the Ford Edge, the MKX wears distinct front and rear styling and features a more upscale interior.

The Lincoln Zephyr becomes the MKZ as Lincoln switches to a three letter naming system (sort of). The naming system has drawn criticism because the letters are somewhat arbitrary.

The Lincoln LS leaves the lineup leaving the Town Car as the sole surviving RWD Lincoln.
