Even though the base Impreza Wagon is overshadowed by the sporty WRX Wagon, it is the only affordable AWD compact wagon sold in the USA. Unfortunately, the sloped rear profile limits additional cargo capacity, but the wagon still offers more utility than the sedan, in the same package. A powerful 173-bhp 2.5L flat-4 gives the Impreza an edge over most other competitors. A choice of 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic is available. A comprehensive set of standard features makes the Impreza Wagon an excellent value.

What Changed:

All Impreza models get new front end styling for 2006. Addition of variable valve lift technology boosts power to 173 hp from 165hp. The 2.5RS model has been renamed 2.5i for consistency with the Legacy.
