Another version of the ubiquitous GM mid-sized SUVs

Overview Information

The sole remaining Isuzu passenger vehicle sold in the USA is the Ascender, which replaces the long-running Rodeo. Isuzu based the Ascender on the GM midsize SUV platform, and equipped the Ascender with a 291-bhp 4.2L I-6 or 300-bhp 5.3L V-8. The Ascender 7-passenger is available with either engine. Both Ascender models use a 4-speed automatic transmission. Properly equipped, the V-8 powered Ascender can tow up to 6,400 lbs.
