The entry-level commuter car from Hyundai.
Overview Information
The Accent is Hyundai's entry level model. Introduced for the 2006 model year, the 3rd generation Accent is far more competitive than the model it replaces. The FWD Accent sedan is powered by a 110 hp 4-cylinder engine offered with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. When configured with an optional convenience package, the Accent includes alloy wheels, air conditioning, power windows, power locks, keyless entry and heated side mirrors for under $14,500.
What Changed:
All-new 3rd generation Accent is longer, wider and taller than the model it replaces. New 1.6L 4-cylinder produces 110hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.
Official Word:
"The Accent has always been a popular vehicle, but recently, this segment has become highly competitive. We believe drivers will once again embrace this all-new Accent with its segment-leading standard safety features, increased interior space, and content that is typically not available in this segment, all of which should accelerate this Accent to the front of the pack." -- Robert F. Cosmai, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America
