A stunning concept for a new Camaro
Overview Information
Many have mourned the passing of the Camaro in 2002. This year, Chevrolet has created a concept car meant to point the way to a possible return of Camaro. Inspired by the 1969 model, the concept is not strictly a rehash of the old design. The styling of the concept contains classic cues, but is unique enough to reach modern (younger) buyers. The concept is based on a mid-sized RWD platform and finds its power from a 400hp 6.0L LS2 V8. Production plans for the Camaro are rumored for the 2008/2009 time frame.
Official Word:
"Millions of people of all ages fell in love with the Camaro for all of the right reasons. Camaros were beautiful to look at and offered performance that could rival expensive European GTs. Yet they were practical enough to drive every day and priced within the reach of many new car buyers." -- Ed Welburn, GM vice president, global design
