Chevy imports some European style and engineering for the Malibu.
Overview Information
A solid midsize sedan from Chevrolet that offers great value, the Malibu is based on a platform shared with the Opel Vectra and Saab 9-3. The Malibu SS models are equipped with a 3.9L V-6, 18-inch alloy wheels, and unique interior and exterior trim. Standard Malibus have a 2.2L I-4 or 3.5L V-6 and 4-speed automatic. The LTZ premium model offers additional luxury features. ABS and traction control are available on all models. Side-impact and head curtain airbags are available on all models.
What Changed:
The Malibu adds a sporty SS version. The SS features a 240hp 3.9L V-6 with variable valve timing (VVT), 18-inch alloy wheels, and a firmer sport suspension with stiffer springs, dampers, and bigger front & rear anti-roll bars. An SS-specific front fascia has larger grille openings, lower air dam, and projector-beam fog lamps.
