The Monte Carlo is a unique offering. The combination of its size, FWD and clear linkage to NASCAR place it in a class by itself. Monte Carlo is offered in LS, LT, LTZ and SS trim levels. The LS and LT models feature a 210hp 3.5L V6. Upgraded LT and LTZ models feature a 240hp 3.9L V6. The performance oriented SS model is powered by a 303hp 5.3L small-block V8. All three powertrains feature a four-speed automatic. Tire sizes vary from 225/60R16 on the base model to substantial 235/50R18 tires on the SS.

What Changed:

Monte Carlo receives a number of updates for 2006. An updated front and rear appearance results in a reduction of 1.2in in overall length. On the inside, new instruments, a new center stack and upgraded seats fresehen the interior. Three all-new powerplants are offered, a 210hp 3.5L V6, a 240hp 3.9L V6, and a 303hp 5.3L V8. All powerplants are mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
