Overview Information

At first glance it may look the same, but the Xterra is all-new for 2005. Built on a version of the Titan's full-sized truck platform, the Xterra is taller, wider and has a longer wheelbase than it's predecessor. The interior is larger and the cargo area features some of the innovations from the Titan. All Xterras will be powered by a 4.0L, stroked version of Nissans 3.5-liter V6. Xterra will be offered in 2WD and 4WD versions with a choice of a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual.

What Changed:

All-new Xterra based on a version of the Titan's full-sized truck platform. Xterra is taller, wider and has a longer wheelbase than it's predecessor. Power is provided by a 4.0L V6.

Official Word:

"The changes in the new Xterra are evolutionary, though with a capital E. For 2005, we've made key improvements in the areas customers want most -- power, driveability, smoother on-road dynamics, more interior space and cargo versatility and, of course, greater off-road performance." -- Mark McNabb, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America
