Mercedes has updated its C-class lineup for 2005. Most models receive an updated front end, headlights and taillamps on the outside. On the inside, there is an all-new dashboard, instrument panel, steering wheel and center console. The C-class is available in Luxury and Sport versions. The 4MATIC AWD syste can be added for an additional $1200. The big news is the appearance of a V8 model. The 2005 C55 AMG model replaces the 2004 C32 AMG. The C55 AMG mates a 360hp V8 to a 5-speed automatic driving the rear wheels. This pits the C55 directly against the Audi S4.
