The Toyota 4Runner, along with the Landcruiser, is a true truck-based SUV. For 2003, Toyota has totally redesigned the 4Runner. A new 4.0L/245-bhp V-6 is standard, with a 4.7L/235-bhp V-8 optional. Both engines are available in 2WD & 4WD models.
From the beginning, the goal of Toyota engineers was to develop an all-new 4Runner that would move from niche-vehicle to core vehicle in the U.S. mid-size arena.
