The Eclipse has been a best selling car for Mitsubishi since its 1989 introduction. It's easy to see why: the 1st generation Eclipse offered an outstanding combination of value and performance, especially the AWD Eclipse GSX turbo. The second generation car refined and improved the strengths of the original that made it so popular with the import tuner clientele. However, the latest Eclipse is a radical change from its high strung turbocharged predecessor. The new Eclipse has distinctive exterior styling that bears no resemblance to the previous car. More importantly, the 210-bhp turbo inline-4 and AWD have disappeared in favor of FWD and a 200-bhp V-6 in the Eclipse GT. A convertible Eclipse Spyder adds spice to the lineup. Prices range from $17,987-$21,947.
