What Changed

The eagerly awaited BMW M3 arrives in the US for 2001. The US-spec M3 produces 333-bhp/269 lb-ft. from its 3.2L inline-6. BMW estimates 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155 mph. A viscous limited-slip differential (Variable M Differential Lock) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) ensure maximum power reaches the road. Only 4000 M3's will be allocated to the US for 2001. A convertible and a higher horsepower M3 GT are expected next year. Pricing is expected to start around $46,000.
